Javalina's coffee shop was sold December 15, 2008, and the new owner closed the shop in April of 2011. The founder of Javalina's Coffee & Friends, Bonnie Vining, has created a non-profit called Live Acoustic Venue Association (LAVA) for the purpose of continuing to connect musicians with appreciative audiences in settings that are conducive to listening.
